WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

Why families want a boy after pregnancies and not a girl? Why there is a need to look after a girl, women or a wife in social places? Why women feel insecure while moving out? The answer to all such questions can be changed, the thought of the society can be changed, but for all these, you have to raise voice! Raise your thoughts; raise your community, where you belong. Women empowerment is not a project or a topic; it’s a thought that needs to be acknowledged by all.

"EDUCATION IS GOOD, WE HAVE TO MAKE IT BETTER":

There are places, where education to a girl is considered worthless. Every human has a right to educate themselves, regardless of any caste or religion, then why not girls?

Savitribai Phule was an Indian social educationalists and poet from Maharashtra. She is regarded as the mother of Indian feminism. She played an important role in improving women’s rights in India. Phule and her husband founded first Indian girls school in pune. She worked hard to stop the unfair treatment of people based on caste and gender.

"WOMEN LEADING FINANCE, IS THE FUTURE":

There are many such women in our society, who are helping their family, with household work along with helping them financially.

Ruma Devi is a popular traditional handicraft artesian and a social activist from Barmer Rajasthan. She was married in a poor family; she decided to do some work for earning. She made a group of 10 local women and collected Rs.100 from each member and bought a sewing machine. This thought of her challenged the social norms, though later more and more local women joined them and the group of 10 members increased to 22000 women. They help each other, at the same time they also became self dependent.

CHANGES REQUIRED:

  • “In traditional Indian society sons are considered as assets while girls are considered as liability” this thought has to be erased from mind.
  • They have to be independent, and should have all rights to choose their path in life.
  • It is the duty of the parents to inculcate good thoughts and respect for opposite gender in their sons.
  • Now, it’s our turn, girls or women should not be considered as a liability, they should be credited as an invaluable asset in the balance sheet of life.
